PIONEER POST & BEAM WHAT WE DO | OUR SERVICES
We design and build a variety of Post & Beam/Timberframe buildings. Most of the people who come to us have a concept or dream of a building that will be used for a specific purpose. Put simply, we help bring your ideas, needs and inspirations into focus and make them reality.
FAQs and Answers...
Q: Is Post & Beam/Timberframe more expensive than conventional "stick frame construction"?
A: No. Post & Beam, although an entirely different way of building, is comparably-priced per square foot, depending upon your site and location. Feel free to discuss this with us.
Q: How long does one take to build?
A: This varies depending on how large the structure is and time of year. Most projects take anywhere from 2-6 weeks. We're always happy to discuss your needs and requirements. Just contact us.
Q: Do I need a Building Permit?
A: Yes, in most cases. Check your local Zoning Bylaws. We can help guide you to the information you need.
Q: Will my new building "match" my existing house?
A: We strive to complement your current structure versus "match it". This results in a much more satisfying aesthetic experience. By the way, a vinyl home and wood outbuilding can work beautifully together!
Q: In what seasons can we do our project?
A: Although weather is a concern, we work through all four New England seasons and are unafraid of winter! The only prerequisite is that your foundation be in before the ground freezes.
Q: When would we need to contact you to do a building in the Spring?
A: As soon as possible! Because we give each project so much personal attention, the more notice you can give us, the better. We will do our utmost to accommodate you.
Q: Do I have to deal with another contractor to install my foundation and/or concrete floor?
A: No! Pioneer Post & Beam does our own foundation and concrete floor work, making the start of your project much easier and more convenient for you.
